Messenger & Social Networking Sites
Messenger
Messenger » Free group video chat, video calls, voice calls and text messaging.
Messenger is a social networking app that works in conjunction with Facebook and allows users to connect and communicate with others in a variety of ways. Users can choose to communicate through text, phone calls, video calls, voice and video messaging; by sending photos and videos; and/or by creating rooms for group video chat. If notifications are turned on, users' phones make a sound or vibrate when they get a message, and users can see when someone else has viewed the messages they send. Notifications can be turned off, but the user remains logged in. Users can send messages to individuals privately or to groups they've created.
The latest update to Facebook Messenger gave the app a completely new look, with bright, colorful conversation pages, and streamlined friends lists.
The main screen, called Recent, shows a list of your recent active conversations, which is every message thread that you have not deleted or archived. You'll see your friends' photos, names, and the last message sent in the conversation.
With regards to safety features, users have the option of blocking people, ignoring incoming messages from certain senders, and reporting inappropriate, offensive, or alarming conversations. Users can use "Watch Together" to view Facebook Watch content with friends and "Vanish Mode" lets friends send messages that disappear after users leave the chat.
Facebook Messenger has undergone a lot of changes since its inception. A slick new design, stickers, and free voice calling are all welcome additions.
For those who only check their Facebook inbox occasionally and are more interested in their news feed, the original Facebook app will suffice. But if you're really into chatting with your friends anywhere and everywhere, Messenger is still certainly the best way to quickly and easily access your conversations.
